Warriors drop from second to fourth in men’s league

The ninth week of Sunday Night Junior Men’s Hockey League action Nov. 15 saw some pretty decisive wins, combined with one close contest.
In the end, the Mr. Handyman Moose were still on top of the standings, while the We Are Creative Warriors were downed by the Inside Out Family Chiropractic Predators to knock them from second to fourth place.
Predators 11, Warriors 5
The Predators chewed up the Warriors and sent them home to lick their wounds with a the largest win of the season so far.
Point getters for the Predators were Mark Metcalfe, John Hutchinson, Colin Fyffe, Ray Ilijasic, Steve Hutchins, Fab Iafano, Mike Andreoli, Howard Cantelon, Larry Richardson, and Mike Arnold. Warriors wailers were Mark Cinonetta, Lee Noseworthy, Brent Spagnol, Brandon Jones, Giancarlo Tarsitano and Bogdan Rapan.
Moose 6, Blades 3
In a tough one, the Moose were able to bounce back from their loss of the previous week to get back into the win column over Ken’s Lawnmower Repairs Blades.
Moose marksmen were Cam Coulter (unassisted), Marc de Abaitua from Carlo Landolfi and Brad Sztorc, Steve Brown from de Abaitua, Brendan Pace from Landolfi and Shane Marshall, Marshall from de Abaitua, and Coulter (unassisted). Blades bangers were Daryll Simpson from Mark Bauldry, Simpson from Silvio Muraca and Shawn Simpson, and Darren Jones from Daryll Simpson and Greg Fuller.
Wings 1, Wild 0
In a nail biter, the St. Louis Bar and Grill Red Wings squeaked out a victory over Pommes Cider Co. Wild.
All the accolades go to Bob McHardy for the Wings as he potted the unassisted marker, with Craig Piotto getting the shut-out.
Penguins 6, Fire 3
George’s Arena Sports Penguins were able to extinguish the flame of the Ainsley Fire Protection Fire squad and earn the victory.
Net nabbing for the Penguins were Dave Matheson from Mike Brioux, Matt Dowdle from Mike Tarasco, Brandon Scott from Ron Toffin, Scott from Tarasco, Scott from Toffin, and Toffin (unassisted). Fire’s flamers were Matthew Geiser (unassisted), Sandro Mignosa from Mark Andreoli, and Ryan Wood from Mike Weeda.
