Town seeking resident feedback on land use, parking

The Town of Caledon is surveying residents about illegal land use in the municipality, and a new parking strategy in Southfields Village. 

Illegal Land use

On April 8, the Town launched an online survey about illegal land use on its civic engagement website, haveyoursaycaledon.ca. The survey will be available until April 26.

Town staff said input from residents will help support enforcement initiatives around illegal land use — specifically with regards to illegal trucking operations.

Caledon launched an “Illegal Land Use Task Force” in 2019 to address what staff call growing land-use issues related to the parking and storage of tractor-trailers and commercial vehicles.

“In the last few years, more than 300 properties in Caledon have been investigated for potential illegal truck storage violations,” said staff in a media release.
