Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) is now accepting nominations for the Dr. David Scott Award.
Named after retired surgeon and life-long Orangeville resident Dr. David Scott, the award recognizes individuals or groups who have gone above and beyond to improve the overall health and wellness of the Caledon and Dufferin area and promote links between the hospital and the community.
The nomination deadline is April 30.
Since it was created in 2000, the award has been presented to a remarkable group of dedicated community members, including Elizabeth Birnie and Lorna Bethell (2012), Carol Riddell (2011), Dr. Dan Mallin (2010) and Larry Rankin (2009).
Last year’s recipient was Bob Burnside, who was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the hospital, and economic development in the Caledon-Dufferin community through various initiatives and volunteer organizations.
Nominations for the Dr. David Scott Award will be evaluated by HHCC’s Governance Committee of the Board of Directors. Nominees will be assessed based on the breadth of their community service, their achievements and the impact they have had on the community. The award will be handed out at the hospital’s Annual General Meeting in June.
