Newmarket man dies after crash in Caledon

A 21-year-old man from Newmarket died Sunday of injuries he received in a traffic collision on Highway 9 Friday.
Caledon OPP reports the accident occurred early Friday afternoon.
Charles Ireton was driving a westbound SUV which apparently crossed the centre line and collided with a dump truck. Ireton was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed for several hours between Airport Road and Glen Haffy Road while OPP Technical Collision Investigators attended the scene to provide assistance with the investigation.
