Last call for OPP Civilian Academy

The detachment’s six-week Police Academy begins May 15. from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Selected candidates will gain a great deal of information relating to criminal investigations, motor vehicle collision investigations and driving behaviours, as well as seeing demonstrations from representatives of the Emergency Response Unit and Explosives Disposal Unit.
Applicants are requested to submit a 500-word letter of interest stating their reasons for wishing to participate in the Caledon OPP Civilian Academy. Applicants will be carefully screened and are subject to a Criminal Record Check.
The Civilian Academy will be restricted to 20 Caledon residents who have no previous volunteer experience with Caledon OPP. The OPP Civilian Academy requires a minimum of 15 participants in order to fulfill class requirements.
