Kevin Junor came close to being elected to Caledon council four years ago, and he’s giving it another try.
Junor registered last week to seek the area seat for Ward 5 on Caledon council. He finished second in the same race in 2010, falling just nine votes shy of election. But he said it wasn’t that bad.
“The outcome of the last election was a blessing in disguise,” he said, observing it allowed him to look at other opportunities that he wouldn’t have been able to had he been on council. “It’s been a positive experience all around.”
Junor, manager of the Ontario Correctional Services College, said he wants to provide effective representation and speak for people from the council table. He added politics is meant to provide a voice for the people, not just getting people elected to do what they want.
“I think my chances are quite good,” Junor said, adding he’s been approached by a lot of people, voicing support that he did not have four years ago.
