The Town of Caledon is calling for artists for its fall intake for the Art in the Halls program.

The Art in the Halls program is designed to showcase original artwork from Caledon artists to the public in recreation and culture facilities across Caledon.

It began in 2024 as a way to promote and provide opportunities for exposure to local artists.

The program utilizes the highly visible and well-attended community facilities in Caledon as a space for artists to showcase their work, provide an opportunity for sales, and beautify public spaces.

The Town of Caledon has delivered four intakes of the program since its beginning.

“The program has been well-received by both artists and members of the public, sharing that our community centres are more vibrant and that artists enjoy having the free opportunity to showcase their work,” shared a Town Official.

The Town of Caledon’s Art in the Halls program operates at four facilities across Caledon.

Space in each facility is available to artists for 12 weeks each season.

The current exhibition, Caledon in Living Colour, has been the largest yet, with eight artists.

The Town Hall exhibit features the Brampton Caledon Community Living (BCCL) exhibit, titled Art Beyond Labels: The Power of Inclusion.

“This was an exciting new edition to our Art in the Halls program and marked the beginning of May, which is Community Living Month. This inspiring collection features quilts, sculptures, and paintings created by the talented artists of BCCL. Through their artwork, these artists express their authentic selves, showcasing the power of creativity and the importance of inclusion. BCCL is committed to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to lead enriched, meaningful lives and to actively participate as members of their community,” says a Town Official.

The theme for the Fall 2025 exhibition period is Autumn in the Hills.

All artists, teams of artists or groups who reside, work, study or teach in Caledon are eligible.

“If you are looking for opportunities to showcase your work for the first time and want to share it with the community in a more relaxed setting, this is a perfect opportunity. We accept all different types of artwork from photography, to small sculptural work, to larger scale pieces,” says a Town Official.

The application submission is free of charge to all artists.

This year’s Art in the Halls Fall intake and exhibition happens during Culture Days, providing an additional opportunity for exposure for artists.

Culture Days is a national celebration of arts, culture and heritage culminating in three weeks of free “behind the scenes” activities to discover Caledon artists, creators, performers and heritage from September 19 to October 12.
