Members of the North-South Awareness Project (NSAP) at Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School in Caledon East will be on a journey of social justice and solidarity with the people of Nicaragua from Jan. 23 to Feb. 2.
In partnership with the Casa Canadiense, eight students and four staff members from Robert F. Hall, and five students and one staff member from St. Augustine Secondary School in Brampton will help to build a classroom on a school in the village of Jiñocuao in northern Nicaragua.
The main fundraising event is a Spanish Fiesta Dec. 5, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The Fiesta will include entertainment, a simple meal, a silent auction, a live auction and raffles.
Organizers would be grateful for any contributions toward the silent auction or the project in Nicaragua. No donation is too small as it all makes a difference.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $25 for families and are available in advance from NSAP participants or at the door.
The school is at 6500 Old Church Rd. in Caledon East.
