Caledon residents may want to “RSVP” to the Inglewood Schoolhouse Performers’ latest production.

Beginning with a performance at 8 p.m. on March 22 and a dinner theatre at 6 p.m. on March 23, the community theatre group is bringing the show “RSVP” to the stage at the Inglewood Community Centre (15825 McLaughlin Road).

Other performances of the show will be held at the following dates and times: 8 p.m. on April 6, 2 p.m. on April 7, and 8 p.m. on April 12 and 13.

The March 22 dinner and show has dinner being catered by and served at Knox United Church at 6 p.m. — the show will follow, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Inglewood Community Centre. Tickets for this experience are $50 and can only be purchased by emailing inglewoodperformers@hotmail.com.

Tickets for any of the other performances are $25 and can also be purchased by email.

Additionally, they can be purchased in-person at Lost Bear Market and the Riverdale Fitness Mill or online at this link: inglewoodperformers.com/tickets.

Without giving too much away, RSVP is about an annual neighbourhood garden party where each neighbour has their own story to tell or eccentricity to reveal. When an uninvited guest threatens to disrupt the harmony of the party, the partygoers learn that “a problem shared is a problem halved.”

Richard Prazmowski is directing the production of RSVP alongside co-director Barb Jensen.

An Inglewood resident, Prazmowski was first involved with the Inglewood Schoolhouse Performers from 1991 to 1997. In 1997 he moved to Meaford and became involved with many local theatre groups in that area. A little over two years ago, Prazmowski returned to Inglewood to be closer to family and soon became involved with the Inglewood Schoolhouse Performers once again.

Prazmowski said it’s great to be back with old friends and to see all the new people involved with the Inglewood Schoolhouse Performers.

“When you have fun and it’s something you want to do, you stick with it,” he said.

Prazmowski said it’s been great co-directing RSVP with Jensen. He said they chose the play because they especially enjoyed the way its story is told.

There are 12 actors in the play and rehearsals have been happening once per week since late September. Now that the performances are getting close, there’s two rehearsals per week.

“Things are coming along, things are going well,” said Prazmowski. “I like the whole process of trying to get it all together and get it all looking and sounding right.”

It takes a big team to make a production a success, and Prazmowski was quick to credit everyone involved. Everything from set design, to music and lighting, to promoting the upcoming shows is done by dedicated volunteers.
