Bob McHardy’s two goals powered Yale Industrial Trucks to a 6-5 come-from-behind win over the Grit Bagmen and first place in the Caledon Senior Hockey League.
In the other games last Monday night at Don Sheardown Memorial Arena, Rutherford Global Logistics dropped a 4-1 decision to the Jiffy Lube Oilers to lose its share of first place and Fines Ford Lincoln downed Heart Lake Insurance 7-4.
Yale 6, Grit 5
Yale scored twice in the last four minutes of the game to grab the win, with Dan Tasson bagging the game-winner with 22 seconds left.
In addition to his two goals, McHardy also had an assist. Steve Smith had a goal and three assists while Tony Dinis and Bill Davis scored the other goals. Greg Twinney had three helpers and team rep James Heenan had one.
Tony Curcio led the Grit offence with two goals and an assist. Team sponsor Greg Collins, Carlo Fantin and Jim Sabaziotis scored the other goals. John Crossley, Mike Shore and team rep David Shoalts all had two assists. Robert Ianno and Randy Freitag notched single assists.
Jiffy Lube 4, Rutherford 1
Greg Frangakis scored twice for Jiffy Lube while Gary Hughes had a goal and an assist.
Bret Smith stepped in to fill out the strapped Jiffy Lube lineup and scored the other goal. Team sponsor Brian Fetterly grabbed a single assist.
Team rep Nick Taccogna scored for Rutherford.
Fines Ford 7, Heart Lake 4
Bret Smith and Mike Foley led Fines with two goals and an assist each.
Joe Palumbo had one of each. Stefan Pacula and Alex Dorosh scored the other goals. Single assists went to Bill Moyer, Jeff Boyles, Luch Pinarello, George Armstrong and Dave Armstrong.
Steve Tarasco led Heart Lake with one goal and two assists. Team sponsor Chris Spilar had a goal and an assist. Mike McNamara and Tim Sinclair scored the other goals. Rod Sinclair notched two assists with singles going to John Castellucci and team rep Ian Kerr.
