So many uniquely supportive people live and thrive in our town and without them, Caledon would not be nearly as great a place to live.
Recently, two of my athletes (Andrew Yorke of Caledon East and Taylor Reid of Inglewood) and I were recognized at the Town’s Volunteer and Sports Recognition Evening.
On behalf of Andrew, Taylor and myself, I want to thank the Town of Caledon Recreation Department for such a great evening and for the very generous recognition. Andrew and Taylor are just two of the amazing elite C3 athletes who have worked tirelessly over the past decade to become internationally recognized sportsmen. They do pride to their families, their past high schools and to the Town of Caledon. You will see more from them and their C3 teammates in weeks and years to come.
I can say unconditionally that without the great support of hundreds of Caledon volunteers, that C3 could not host the amazing races (Kids of Steel and Fall Run Festival) and without those events, our young athletes would not have anywhere to get a start.
Special thanks to the C3 board, to race director Stewart Barclay and to Kinetico, Royal Containers and Benson Steel. Without these three amazing companies my athletes and I would not have been able to excel.
Keep on supporting Caledon athletes, events and businesses.
Barrie Shepley,
Olympic Coach,
Proud Caledon resident
