From July 1 to 3, Caledon OPP took part in a province-wide traffic safety initiative.
During the initiative, OPP officers focused their attention on aggressive driving, as well as the other “Big 4” causes of injuries in collisions: speeding, impaired driving, distracted driving, and seat belts.
The Caledon figures show there were four people charged with distracted driving, 217 with speeding; eight with racing; six with seat belt infractions: three with impaired driving; three who were handed warn-range suspensions; and 134 who were charged with other offences.
Police remind motorists to be mindful of their driving behaviour while travelling.
