As of July 1, the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) kicks of the summer break with pay what you can admission.
The art gallery spaces will be closed and undergoing some much-needed upgrades, therefore PAMA will be offering donation based admission until the construction is complete. In light of the construction, PAMA still has a fantastic summer of programming and events planned.
There will be summer camp fun from July 4 to 22 for youngsters aged six to 12.
The first week has already started. The second week (July 11 to 15) will be Hip Hop and Art, followed by Wonderful World of Water July 18 to 22. The cost is $157.25 per week for members and $185 per week for non-members. Register at pama.peelregion.ca under PAMA Kids!
There will be a Family Art and Stories (Watercolour Markings) this coming Saturday (July 9) from 2 to 4 p.m. Bring stories to life through art and inspire lifelong learning at the same time. This month is about Watercolour Markings. Pre-registration is required at pama.peelregion.ca
Family Art and Yoga sessions will run July 16 and 30 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Learn some classic yoga movements and create a unique piece of art to take home. All levels of yoga students are welcome. Bring your own yoga mat. Pre-registration is required at pama.peelregion.ca
Join the Drumming Circle with the Peel Aboriginal Network July 21 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for an evening of shared traditions and songs.
Knit@PAMA takes place every Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The program is now year-round. Drop-in and meet other local knitters. PAMA supplies the yarn and all donations support local charities in need in Peel Region. Beginners are welcome.
PAMA will kick off Summer Staycation days July 25. The first week (July 25 to 29) will be aptly named Art Gallery 101. In this creative week, visitors will be introduced to a new style of art every day. From still life to abstract art, each day will have different materials to create something new.
Games Night for those aged 14 and older will be July 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Looking for something fun to do with a Thursday night? Play games from old classics to new favourites.
The Classic Cars Celebration in Downtown Brampton will take place July 16. PAMA will have a booth in Family Lane. Create something special. Take part in the family scavenger hunt to win great prizes. Visit downtownbramptonbia.ca for more information.
