OVATIONS AT CROSSCURRENTS There were standing ovations not just at the end, but after every song. That’s how the CrossCurrents Cafe audience responded to Juneyt, master of Nuevo Flamenco, Friday night. He played Nuevo or “new” Flamenco, based largely on Rhumba Flamenco rhythms, overlaid with Latin, jazz and thematic elements from the Turkish music of his homeland. Tom Nagy, his bass player, synched flawlessly with Juneyt’s twists and turns.
