Lifetree to look at racism

May 1, 2013   ·   0 Comments

The issue of racism will be explored at the next session Lifetree Café May 8.
The program, entitled The Black and White Truth About Racism: Will We Ever Live in a Colorblind World? will feature an exclusive filmed interview with Daryl Davis, a black man who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan.
“I wanted to question those people who would lynch me for no other reason than the color of my skin,” Davis said. “Why do you hate me when you don’t even know me?”
The session will last one hour, starting at 7 p.m., and will be at 6025 Old Church Rd. in Caledon East, in the café space in St. James’ Church. Admission is free. Snacks and beverages are available.
Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Bruce Neville at 416-579-9977 or Desiree Neville at 416-579-6748.
