Representatives from the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Henk van den Berg Council 10614 Bolton, and the Borg family presented a cheque for $1,500 to the Caledon Parent-Child Centre (CPCC) Sept. 2.
The contribution was in memory of Sir Knight and Past Grand Knight John Borg. The funds will support CPCC’s upcoming parent education series, Parenting Young Children.
Following the cheque presentation, which took place on what would have been Mr. Borg’s 85th birthday, the Borg family announced that they would be matching the funds to the CPCC, bringing the total donation to $3,000.
“I can’t tell you what these donations mean to us,” said CPCC Executive Director Teresa Colasanti as she accepted the donations on behalf of CPCC. “Being able to offer exceptional programs like Parenting Young Children to the community is very important to us. We are very grateful to both the Knights of Columbus for their ongoing support of the CPCC and to the Borg family for their generous gift in memory of Sir Knight John Borg.”
The Parenting Young Children program will be offered Friday mornings beginning Oct. 3 at CPCC in the Albion-Bolton Community Centre. Registration is underway and anyone looking for more information should, call the CPCC at 905-857-0090 or visit www.cp-cc.org
