Jobs Caledon to help explore careers with OPP

Interested in a career as a police officer with the OPP?
Constable Clayton Brown will be at Jobs Caledon (Caledon Community Services) in Bolton at 18 King St. E Upper Level, next Friday (Aug. 19) from 1 to 3 p.m. to discuss what makes a competitive candidate, the different steps in the hiring process, and what applicants need to do to get started. Brown will also explain wages, benefits and resources available to help people determine if this is the career for them.
“The Ontario Provincial Police is always hiring,” he said. “In fact, the OPP is opening doors on an unprecedented scale, showcasing what policing in Ontario is all about.”
With 16 years experience as a police officer and currently as a background investigator, Brown can share insight into many different positions in which he has served. OPP offers career opportunities in a variety of areas to its officers. Brown conducted general policing duties and road safety enforcement, served as a recruiter, an investigator, a supervisor and as a specialty team member. He has had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people across the province.
“Using community outreach information sessions and social media, the OPP is hoping to provide an avenue for everyone everywhere, to learn more about a career in policing,” he said.
