Caledon Fire and Emergency Services were called out last Thursday to deal with a fire at a house on Golfdale Court. Firefighters from Palgrave got the call at about 10:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a two-storey home with a heavily involved working fire in the attached three-bay garage. Occupants were accounted for and firefighters started an offensive fire attack. They used several large hand lines to control the fire and prevented it from penetrating into the house. Crews worked in adverse weather conditions to bring the fire under control at approximately 12:30 a.m. Twelve fire apparatus and approximately 30 personnel were on scene. There are no reports of any injuries. Damage is estimated at $300,000, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters from Palgrave, Caledon East, Bolton and Mono Mills Stations were involved, along with Caledon OPP, Enbridge gas and Peel EMS.
