Summer’s not over yet.

For those looking to get the most out of their summer months, there’s lots to do at home right here in Caledon. There’s a number of different events coming soon that cater to residents of all ages.

On August 10, The Mom Market will host a market at Davis Feed & Farm Supply in Caledon East.

The market will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature 40 vendors, a petting zoo, and an ice cream truck. The rain date for this event is August 11.

The Mom Market will also host a market on August 24 at Albion Orchards. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature vendors, food trucks, and apple picking. The rain date for this event is August 25.

As mentioned in a story in this week’s paper, the Downtown Bolton Business Improvement Area and Bolton Community Crew will host the annual Midnight Madness street party on August 9. It will feature over 70 vendors, a DJ, a massive kids zone, 14 food trucks, live music and more.

From 7 to 10 p.m. on August 8, the Caledon Seniors Centre will host a “Paint Night on the Patio”.

Tickets for the event are $30 and include painting supplies, wine, cheese, and snacks.

Between August 4 and 18, the Caledon Music Festival will be held at locations across Caledon.

The first show of this year’s festival will be held at 2 p.m. on August 4 at the Alton Mill Arts Centre. Titled “Friends of Chamber Music,” the show will feature everything from operatic arias to electronic music.

“Tasting Notes”, a signature event that pairs drinks, beautiful views, and jazz-influenced classical music, will be held at 7:30 p.m. on August 7 at Davis Family Farm.

At 7:30 p.m. on August 14, there will be a “Cello Recital” at Caledon East United Church.

Performing will be cello virtuoso Daniel Hamin Go and pianist Ben Smith.

The grand finale of this year’s Caledon Music Festival will be held at 2 p.m. on August 18 at the Alton Mill Arts Centre. It’s a concert called “Passions and Storms” and brings together the combined musical talents of all who will be performing as part of this year’s Caledon Music Festival.

On August 10, the Caledon chapter of the Electric Vehicle (EV) Society, Town of Caledon, and ecoCaledon will team up to host “Electrify Caledon” at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness in Bolton.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., residents can test drive the latest EV models from leading manufacturers, speak to EV owners and partners, and attend free information sessions. There will be a barbeque lunch at the event thanks to the Rotary Club of Bolton.

Kenneth Bokor, President of the Caledon chapter of the Electric Vehicle Society, said he’s excited for people to get to experience driving EVs.

“We can talk about the merits of EVs but getting behind the wheel is what it’s all about… there’s so many products out there now covering a wide range of needs, from small city runabout vehicles to big trucks and three-row SUVs,” he said.
