A 49-year-old man from Dunsford was charged Aug. 31 after Caledon OPP officers found a man sitting in a white van in a parking lot in the area of Allan Drive in Bolton.
Police report officers came upon the van shortly before 2 a.m. They saw a man was in the driver’s seat, that the lights were on and the engine was running. They also noticed he seemed disoriented.
The driver was asked to roll down the window, but he couldn’t, eventually opening the door.
Police immediately detected a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.
The man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
His licence was suspended on the spot and the van was impounded for seven days.
