Mayfield Secondary School
Sarah Bailey
This Grade 9 student played vice on the senior girls’ curling team, which won at ROPSSAA and finished second at OFSAA. In the fall, she was a guard for the junior girls’ basketball team, which made it to the playoffs, and she’s also active at the Chinguacousy Curling Club. She used to play soccer in Bramalea. The 15-year-old lives in Brampton with her parents Steve and Alison Bailey.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School
Jaime Payne
The Grade 9 student has been a member of the school’s swim team which did well at ROPSSAA. “Everyone beat their times,” she said, adding that included her performance in the 100-metre fly, 100 individual medley and 50 free. Away from school, swims with the Dorado Stars and takes part in the Bolton Skating Club. The 14-year-old lives in Bolton with he parents Jamey and Patricia Payne.
Humberview Secondary School
Tyler Ellis
This 15-year-old wasn’t around here much over March break. He and his junior rugby playing mates were in Wales before coming home and getting on with the season. He also played cornerback on the varsity football team in the fall. In the community, he plays rep hockey for the Caledon Hawks and rep lacrosse in the Caledon Bandits’ organization, as well as rugby with the Aurora Barbarians. The Grade 10 student lives in Palgrave with his parents Duncan and Maria Ellis.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School
Karley Kitson
This 18-year-old was part of the school’s varsity girls’ hockey team. She played defence on the squad which went undefeated until their last game. In the community, she’s captain of her rep B team in the Caledon Coyotes’ organization. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton with her parents Mark and Sharlene Kitson.
