Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) has a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), in the form of Deborah Martin-Downs.
CVC Chair Pat Mullin recently announced the appointment, which takes effect Aug. 6.
Through her experience as Director of the Ecology Division with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), Martin-Downs brings broad organizational, operational and technical leadership to CVC. Her 30-year career in the environmental community includes both private sector consulting and public sector, in-the-field postings. She holds her Masters Degree in zoology and environmental studies from the University of Toronto and Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo.
Active on environmental committees, Martin-Downs has earned her reputation as a visionary thinker, creative problem solver and inclusive relationship builder with stakeholders across the province.
“We are excited to welcome Ms. Martin-Downs to her new role as Chief Administrative Officer,” said Mullin. “She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to CVC, the third largest conservation authority in Ontario. Her strategic leadership and her ability to inspire excellence in her staff will prove an enormous asset to Credit Valley Conservation as we build momentum and plan for the future.”
