Do you want to help make a difference in your community?
Join Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) for the Caledon Creek community tree planting this Saturday (May 9) from 9 a.m. to noon at Caledon Creek, off McCort Drive in Caledon village. This event is in partnership with the Town of Caledon, Ontario Streams and Halton Peel Woodlands and Wildlife Stewardship (HPWWS).
“This is an opportunity for community members to enjoy the outdoors, connect with nature and do their part for the local environment,” said Mike Puddister, deputy CAO and director of watershed transformation for CVC.
No experience is required and CVC staff will provide tree planting demonstrations. Students are encouraged to participate and earn their community volunteer hours. Light refreshments and snacks will be offered after tree planting.
Participants should dress for the weather and wear long pants and boots if possible. Shovels and gloves are provided, but extras would be helpful.
