The parent-child relationship is at the heart of healthy child development.
This important connection affects secure attachment, brain and language development, social and emotional well-being, and general success in school.
This fall, Caledon Parent-Child Centre (CPCC) will present Make The Connection: Birth to One, a parenting program designed to help strengthen the parent-infant relationship.
Make the Connection is a multi-session education series for parents with infants from birth to 12 months of age. Through interactive group participation, parents will learn the skills necessary to establish loving relationships, foster two-way communication and nurture the curiosity behind a baby’s drive to explore and learn. Parent educators will guide parents using hands-on practice with reflection, videotaping, and group discussion to help parents connect and communicate with their baby.
The sessions will take place Thursday afternoons from 1:30 to 3 p.m. beginning Sept. 25 at The Caledon Parent-Child Centre in the Albion-Bolton Community Centre. Babies accompany parents. Child care is not available. Advance registration is required on a first come, first served basis at a cost of $12 per registrant.
