Charged fleeing police

A 43-year-old Caledon man is facing charges after a suspect impaired driver tried to evade police July 15.
Caledon OPP reports they were contacted by a citizen shortly after 7 p.m. about a possible impaired driver, which they eventually found in the area of Castlederg Sideroad and Duffy’s Lane. Officers tried to get the vehicle to stop, but the driver took off. They eventually discovered that the vehicle had ended up in a ditch and the driver fled on foot.
Extra patrols were called out, and a man was eventually found in the area of Regional Road 50 and Old Church Road.
He was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system and flight from police. His licence was suspended on the spot, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
