Chamber hosting candidates tonight

June 4, 2014   ·   0 Comments

A special meeting of the provincial candidates in Dufferin-Caledon has been called by the Caledon Chamber of Commerce for tonight (Thursday).
It will be at James Bolton Public School at 7 p.m.
“The Chamber simply could not ignore the overwhelming number of requests to organize this meeting,” said Chamber Chair Valerie Arnold-Judge. “We are happy to offer this opportunity to the taxpayers.”
Among issues that were raised in Orangeville last week are the Province’s actions around Bolton’s Boundary Expansion, health, jobs and education, as well as pits and quarries in the Dufferin and Caledon region.
The Chamber encourages all residents eligible to vote to exercise that privilege. By this point in an election year, people might find themselves overwhelmed by politics — the advertisements, the polls, the news coverage, etc. With all that noise, it’s easy for folks to come up with excuses for not voting.
“I am an active member of my community so I know how even little actions can make a big difference,” Arnold-Judge said. “I urge all first time voters to be excited about this. When it comes to marking that ‘X’ on a ballot, I feel great pride and I know others will too.”
