Caledon OPP has new operation manager

Caledon OPP Staff Sergeant Michael Garant has some new responsibilities.
Inspector Tim Melanson, detachment commander, has announced Garant has been promoted to the post of Operations Manager.
Garant began his OPP career in 1992 and reported for duty in Port Credit. He then moved to Caledon in 2000 and transferred to Premier’s Security Detail in 2002. He then returned to Caledon in 2007 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2009.
“Staff Sergeant Garant brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Operations Manager to the Caledon Detachment,” Melanson observed. “Staff Sergeant Garant’s experience as a leader will serve him well in his new role.”
“I am looking forward to new challenges that this position will provide me,” Garant said. “I am pleased to work closely with the membership of this detachment to continue to provide quality policing to the residents of Caledon”.
Garant replaces Brian Knowler, who served as Caledon’s Operations Manager from January 2012 until December 2013.
