Caledon has hired another employee for a senior leadership position.
Jeff Chase, who is to be Caledon’s new Director of Policy and Strategic Planning, is the fourth person to be hired for such a position since March 20.
Chase comes to the Town of Caledon from Alberta, where he spent the last 10 years working for the cities of Calgary and Edmonton. He helped create Edmonton’s 10-year economic action plan and Calgary’s housing strategy.
Eric Lucic, Caledon’s Commissioner of Planning and Development, said Chase is an accomplished planning leader with “a record of advancing strategic change and policy innovation, and expertise in urban planning, economic development, strategy, and community development.”
He added that “these assets are valuable as we work towards an ambitious plan to build housing and that will not only grow the supply of housing in Caledon but will also help to alleviate housing pressures in the region.”
In his new role at the Town of Caledon, Chase will oversee Caledon’s long-term planning strategy. He will work on Caledon’s Official Plan and comprehensive Zoning Bylaw review, and his team will include Caledon’s Policy, Heritage and Planning teams.
Chase said he’s excited to be joining the Town of Caledon team.
“The Town is growing exponentially, is strategically positioned for growth and committed to proactively tackling the local housing crisis and fostering sustainable growth,” said Chase.
