Bolton Braves walk off with Fire Safety Award

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management presented the Bolton Braves Baseball Association with the 2016 Fire Safety Award for its contribution toward fire safety awareness in the Caledon community.
At a ceremony held at the Famous People Players Theatre in Toronto June 15, Laura Boughen accepted the award on behalf of the Braves organization.
As part of the Swing into Summer Safety campaign, the Braves teamed up with Caledon Fire and Emergency Services and the Toronto Blue Jays to promote barbecue safety, home fire escape planning, smoke and carbon monoxide alarm awareness and open air burning.
The campaign ran from May to September. This was the fourth year the organization has supported the campaign.
The Bolton Braves celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2017. A non-profit organization, it is dedicated to promoting sportsmanship, enjoyment and physical benefits of playing baseball. Visit boltonbravesbaseball.com for more information.
