Bob Parkins Quartet at CrossCurrents

May 3, 2017   ·   0 Comments

Bolton’s own Bob Parkins will return to the CrossCurrents Cafe stage tomorrow (Friday).
When he last performed at CrossCurrents, the audience gave his band a standing ovation. They had covered a broad spectrum of jazz, with effortless mastery. This time, he’s bringing the vibraphone, for a classic jazz sound rarely heard today.
Since coming to Canada in 1969, Parkins has played in many jazz groups, including a spell on vibes in the early 1980s with the Art Ellefson Quintet.
The Bob Parkins Jazz Quartet includes Bob Hewus on bass, Justin McHugh on drums and Jake Franiczek on guitar.
CrossCurrents cafe operates out of Bolton United Church at 8 Nancy St. (use side entrance). The doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the music will start at 8.
Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
