Members of the community are invited to join hospital staff, family and friends at Teen Ranch Ice Corral, to cheer on the local “health care heroes” as they go head-to-head on the ice, all in the name of fundraising.
This third annual event, presented by Precise ParkLink and organized by a small committee of hospital staff members, is in support of the Headwaters Health Care Foundation’s $16 million Commitment to Care Campaign. It was created by staff as an opportunity for hospital employees to have some off-site fun with one another and show their support for both their workplace and their community hospital.
“We had such great success with our two past events that we just had to do it again!” commented event chair John Roberto. “Between ticket sales and bake sale proceeds, we donated just over $5,000 to the Foundation in 2014. We’d like to match, if not beat that this year.”
The puck drops at 8 p.m. for the first game: Staff vs. Staff, highlighting mixed co-ed teams made up of players from all areas of the hospital. That will be immediately followed by the Headwaters Physicians as they battle it out against the Dufferin County Ambulance team.
Tickets can be purchased for $5 each or $20 per family (maximum of five members) at the door beginning at 7 p.m. at Teen Ranch Ice Corral. Come early, shop the bake sale, and grab a hot drink courtesy of Tim Hortons.
