There was a wide variety of food, drink and art in evidence all weekend at Alton Mill Arts Centre with the Cuisine-Art Festival. The event included a still-life paint-off Saturday. The artists working on their creations were Wendy McLeod, Max Grunin, Ann Randaraad, Lynda Clare-Grant, Paul Morin and Jacklyn Hancock.

The annual Cuisine-Art Festival brought crowds out over the weekend to Alton Mill Arts Centre. Conner Douglas, of Edge Wine Bar in Orangeville, was preparing bruschetta with Woolwich goat cheese and balsamic reduction.

Josh Scheerer of Shaws Creek Community Shared Agriculture was offering information on the program, which operates out of the Alton area Whole Village.

Lynn Clark, mother of The Soup Girl Jennifer Clark, was offering samples of Caribbean Rice ‘n Peas.

Gillian Vanderburgh, “Gillie Bee” from Hockley Valley was joined by Jim White “Jimmy Bee” from Erin in explaining some of the points of bee keeping.

Itinerant carpenter Brian Oates from Erin was working on this bow in the Native Wood Gallery.

Several of the artists at the Mill were hard at work in their own studios. Lynden Cowan from Brampton was busy with this oil creation of a scene from Newfoundland.

There numerous breweries and cider producers offering samples of products. Meridith Langston was offering samples of the products from Hockley Valley Brewing Company.

Alton area resident Lou Pinto was providing piano music Saturday.

Jeremy Grant, one of the proprietors of Alton Mill, was all set for Cuisine-Art, right down to his chef’s hat.
