February 19, 2015   ·   0 Comments

“Showing genuine interest in others is a positive step forward in maintaining unity among believers and reaching out to the community.”
With these words, the women of the Bahamas invite the community to join in this year’s World Day of Prayer to celebrate their culture and history, their land and their legacy.
World Day of Prayer has its roots in an Ecumenical Day of Prayer, organized by women in Canada and the United States in 1920. This event became the International World Day of prayer in 1922, and Christians around the world began celebrating it the first Friday of March.
A service will be held March 6 at Palgrave United Church, 34 Pine Ave. in Palgrave, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Another service is scheduled for St. James’ Anglican Church March 6 at 2 p.m. The church is at 6025 Old Church Rd., in Caledon East.
