Mayfield Secondary School Kelyn Young This 14-year-old has been making her mark wrestling in the 44-kilogram class, and she said she’s been winning at all her tournaments. “My brother started me,” she said. “I think I got more serious about two years ago.” She said she might try out for rugby in the spring. Away from school, she helps out with a Beat the Street program in Toronto. The Grade 9 student lives in Brampton.

Hall Catholic Secondary School Diego D’Alessandro The Grade 9 student plays goal on the varsity hockey team, which has started the season off with a 5-1 record, and he’s notched one shutout. He said he might try out for basketball next year. in the community, he plays AA hockey in the Caledon Hawks’ organization and at the house league level in Caledon Soccer Club. The 14-year-old lives in Caledon East.

St. Michale Catholic Secondary School Dalton Cooke This 17-year-old is goalie for the varsity hockey team, which has started the season with an undefeated record, and he’s got three shutouts to his credit. In the spring, he’s planning to play catcher and pitcher on the baseball team. In the community, he plays AA hockey in the Caledon Hawks’ organization and AAA Baseball with the Thornhill Reds. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton.
