The three-way tie at the top of the Caledon Senior Hockey League couldn’t last forever.
As of Dec. 4, it’s a two-way tie.
Heart Lake Insurance got knocked out of the top trio while Yale Industrial Trucks stayed on top after their match ended in a 6-1 final. Bob McHardy scored four goals to propel Yale. Rutherford Global Logistics remained in the first-place tie with Yale by winning a 6-5 nail-biter over the Grit Bagmen and the Jiffy Lube Oilers dumped Fines Ford Lincoln 6-3.
Yale 6, Heart Lake 1
Aside from McHardy’s four goals, Steve Smith was the high points-man with five assists.
Team rep James Heenan had three assists while Bernie Tisdale and Bill Davis scored the other goals. Single assists went to Frank Cirone, Tony Dinis and Robert Masutti.
Mike McNamara scored for Heart Lake with John Castellucci and Rod Sinclair doing the spade-work.
Rutherford 6, Grit 5
Nick Pistilli did most of the damage for Rutherford with three goals and one assist.
Bruno Fracassi matched him in points with a goal and three assists. Jim Dunbar had a goal and an assist and team rep Nick Taccogna scored the other goal. Jim Rogers led the assists parade with three, while Jim Kutchera and Rich Petrie had one each.
Tony Curcio sparked the Bagmen with two goals and an assist. Kyle Smith, Jim Sabaziotis and John Crossley all had one goal and one assist. Mike Shore had two assists with singles going to Mike Gasparini, Randy Freitag, Carlo Fantin and Joe Guaragna.
Jiffy Lube 6, Fines Ford 3
Pete McNamara was the top marksman for Jiffy Lube with two goals and an assist.
Maurizo Giorgio scored a goal and was in brackets on two others. Greg Frangakis and Gary Hughes both had a goal and an assist. Mike Lo Dico scored the other goal. Single assists were recorded by Clark Chung, team rep Peter Coghill and team sponsor Brian Fetterly.
Joe Palumbo bagged two goals for Fines with team rep Ted Callighen scoring the other one. Alex Dorosh and Bret Smith had two assists each. Dave Armstrong and Jim Schaefer both set up one goal.
