A 17-year-old boy from Brampton is facing a number of charges after he was stopped at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check in Bolton Dec. 7.
Caledon OPP reports the spot check was on Albion Vaughan Road north of Mayfield Road, and the youth was stopped driving a black 2015 Honda Civic at about 10:50 p.m.
An officer at the spot check observed open alcohol in the vehicle. The officer then spoke to the driver and detected an odour of a alcoholic on his breath and demanded a sample of his breath. The driver registered a fail.
He was charged with driving a motor vehicle with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system, having consumed alcohol when he was younger than 19, driving with an open container of liquor, being a young driver with a blood alcohol content more than zero and holding a Class G1 licence without being accompanied by a qualified driver.
