Spot check leads to arrest

March 20, 2013   ·   0 Comments

A 26-year-old man from Toronto was charged with breach of recognizance March 11 when he encountered a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check in the area of Highway 50 and Queensgate Boulvard in Bolton.
Caledon OPP reports the incident happened just after midnight when officers observed the driver of a 2001, four-door, blue Honda strike a curb when he came upon the RIDE check. As a result, officers approached the vehicle at which time they discovered that the driver was breaching his recognizance order, which bound him to obey a curfew and be at his residence between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. seven days a week unless in the company of his surety. The driver was unaccompanied by his surety at the time of the vehicle stop.
