A 36-year-old man from Caledon is facing charges after a Jan. 16 incident in New Tecumseth.
Nottawasaga OPP stated a driver had reported being tailgated while travelling west on Highway 89 sometime between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. It was also stated that the suspect vehicle was being driven aggressively.
Police said when both vehicles were stopped at traffic lights, the driver of the following vehicle tapped the driver’s side window of the other car with a axe and uttered a threat.
After further investigation, the man was charged with uttering a threat.
Police are reminding the motoring public that speeding, following too close, making unsafe lane changes and failing to yield right-of-way are all forms of aggressive driving that place all road users at risk.
