Region launches community investment program

April 24, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Funding is now available for non-profit agencies providing community and social services in Peel through the Region of Peel Community Investment Program.
The program’s focus is to build the capacity of Peel’s non-profit sector and enable organizations to make a positive community impact with their programs and services.
Agencies can apply under three different funds: Sustainability — to strengthen organizational sustainability through multi-year operational and small capital funding; organizational effectiveness — to help organizations build their non-profit business; and collaboration — to foster partnerships that are innovative and impactful in meeting a defined community need.
Funding will support initiatives with well-defined outcomes that have strong social returns on investments. Starting May 1, agencies will be able to apply online for funding. The deadline for applications to the sustainability fund is May 31. Applications for the organizational effectiveness fund and collaboration fund will be accepted on an on-going basis and will be reviewed in July and October 2013.
The Region will be hosting information sessions about the Community Investment Program in Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga. It is strongly recommended that non-profit agencies interested in applying to the program attend one session.
