The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is proud to announce and welcome its new Detachment Commander, Inspector Natalie Majer.
Inspector Majer brings an impressive 30-year career that began in 1994 at the Burk’s Falls Detachment. Since then, she has served in numerous frontline detachments, including Nottawasaga, Highway Safety Division, Southern Georgian Bay, and Collingwood/Town of Blue Mountains. Her experience extends beyond Frontline Operations, including leadership roles in the Communications and Technology Services Bureau and the Field Support Bureau. Most recently, she held the role of interim Detachment Commander at Haliburton Highlands.
“A passionate advocate for mentorship and inclusivity, Inspector Majer serves as a mentor with the Ontario Public Service (OPS) Diversity and Career Champion Program, supporting underrepresented members in their career growth and development,” say Police. “As a former board member of the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE) and member of the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), she has championed initiatives that promote equity and empower women in policing.
“Inspector Majer’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace extends to her involvement with the OPP Central Region Steering Committee for Women Igniting Change (WIC) Member Support Network, a group focused on driving positive change and gender equity within the organization.”
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of OPP Women in Uniform, a milestone that highlights the significant contributions and progress made by women in the OPP.
Inspector Majer, as a member of the 50th OPP Anniversary of Women in Uniform Steering Committee, is committed to celebrating this historic achievement. Her leadership and dedication reflect the values of inclusivity and equity that continue to shape the future of policing, as the OPP recognizes the accomplishments of its women veterans and current members, while empowering the next generation through recruitment and mentorship.
“In addition to her professional achievements, Inspector Majer has demonstrated leadership in the broader community through her work on charity campaigns within the OPS, including her roles with United Way and Federated Health Charities. She is a recipient of the prestigious Police Exemplary Service Medal, recognizing her dedication and contributions over three decades of public service.”
A graduate of Brock University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, she has been an active member in various community groups, including the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation Campaign Cabinet.
“Inspector Majer is an accomplished police professional with 30 years of service in multiple OPP detachments and divisions, with a broad experience in highway safety, communications and technology, and central operations that will help Caledon as we continue to grow,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “Our town is in good hands with Inspector Majer as our new Detachment Commander.”
SHOPLIFTING INVESTIGATION
Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a shoplifting incident and are requesting the public’s assistance to identify two persons of interest.
“On August 29, 2024, shortly after 10:00 a.m., Caledon OPP responded to a report of a theft at a local LCBO,” say Police. “As part of the investigation, officers are requesting the public’s assistance to identify two persons of interest.”

ARREST FOLLOWING BREAK AND ENTER
Members of the Caledon OPP have laid charges in connection to a break and enter investigation.
“On September 26, 2024, a break and enter was reported at a residence on Valleygreen Crescent, in the Town of Caledon,” say Police. “High-valuable items were stolen, including vehicle key fobs.
“On October 1, 2024, police were called while the suspect was re-attending the same residence to steal a motor vehicle but was not successful. Officers attended and located the suspect vehicle and seized it.
“On that same day, the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of the Dufferin OPP CSCU, executed a search warrant in both the vehicle and a residence. Evidence, including stolen property and currency, was located and seized.”
As a result of the investigation, Usamah Kasis Bishara, 31, of Maple, was charged with:
Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence;
Enter dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence – two counts;
Possession of break in instruments;
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000;
Possession of a forged document with Intent;
Disguise with Intent;
Possession of a credit card – five counts;
Possession of identity document – seven counts
The charges have not been proven.
The accused was held for a Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

DANGEROUS OPERATION CHARGES
On October 5, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Caledon OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on The Gore Road, just south of Finnerty Sideroad, in the Town of Caledon.
Minor injuries were sustained. The investigation led officers to arrest one of the drivers for Dangerous Operation.
As a result, Tevaughn Brown, 27, of Tottenham was charged with:
Fail to Remain;
Dangerous Operation.
There were minor injuries sustained to the victim vehicle driver.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on November 7, 2024, to answer for the charges.
The charges have not been proven.
