The study of some of the ancient civilizations have been a major social studies project for Grade 5 students at Southfields Village Public School, and they spent last Thursday evening showing how much they have learned. In addition to various displays, there were samples of food from some of these civilizations. These students, Lali Kaur, Simran Dhindso, Amrit Mor and Arya Soni, worked on a display dedicated to ancient China, complete with a depiction of the Great Wall of China, which they said is visible from outer space.

These students worked on this display about those who lived in Ancient Greece, who Selena Gosal (left) said were “really nice people.” She was joined by Kizoth Raventhirakumar and Idris Nasir.
This display of ancient India, complete with a model of the Taj Mahal, was the work of Rajeev Shant, Allen Shi, Leila Murphy and Sarah Cortez.
Naahum Imram, Parminder Sandhal, Kayla Morton and Jayna Gandhi were showing some of what they learned about ancient Rome.
