Midnight Madness organizers, community set to celebrate event’s 50th anniversary

Bolton’s annual Midnight Madness event is coming back once again, and will be better than ever as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the event.

Midnight Madness will take place on August 14 from 6 – 11 p.m., and will take up most of the downtown Bolton area with games, vendors and so much more.

The event will not only go towards helping local businesses but will also bring the community together to celebrate.

The event is free and open for all to join in.

Midnight Madness is anticipating more than the average 15,000 to 20,000 attendees that have attended in past years as it is a special milestone.

Many past attendees will be back to enjoy music, games, food and be able to connect to the community.

Those looking to volunteer can do so by visiting marketfest.ca and applying to help.

To celebrate this spectacular 50th anniversary moment, there will also be a large drone show to end the night, as well as a mind-blowing performance by the musical group Montreal Rhapsody Orchestra.

In addition to their normally scheduled activities, the Bolton BIA will also be partnering with Escape Your Reality and will feature an additional vendor’s market as well as a car show with a wide variety of fresh and cool cars from Caledon Cruisers for car obsessed Caledon community members.

Event Coordinator and Manager Sarah Leslie says she is looking forward to the event as it marks the big 50th celebration and has been planning for the event since January.

“There are new businesses that have opened up in downtown Bolton. It’s important that we show support as this is going to be their night to shine for the first time in front of the community”, says Leslie. “I encourage people to come and support their local businesses because these are our neighbours and family members that we want to be around for another 50 years so they can participate in the 100th Midnight Madness.”

Bringing together local vendors and the community is something that Leslie hopes to accomplish for the evening ahead.

Headliners Montreal Rhapsody Orchestra who will be performing high-energy hits and laid back tunes.

“I would like to thank the Bolton BIA for continuing this important Bolton tradition,” says Leslie. “Midnight Madness is special to a lot of people who have been here for a long time, so I just want to thank them for continuing to host that event, Councillor Tony Rosa and Councillor Cosimo Napoli for sitting on the BIA board, and Mayor Groves for being great supporters of this event.”
