A 35-year-old man from Orangeville has been charged after being stopped by police on Highway 10 Feb. 10.
Caledon OPP reports officers were conducting traffic enforcement at about 1:40 a.m. when they were flagged down by a concerned motorist regarding a possible impaired driver travelling northbound. Officers located the suspect vehicle, a red pick-up, swerving on the road. Subsequently, they initiated a traffic stop to check on the driver’s sobriety. Upon speaking with the male driver, the officers detected signs of impairment by alcohol. The man was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
His licence was suspended for 90 day and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
