A 48-year-old man from Caledon was charged April 26 after police noticed a vehicle being driven oddly on Airport Road.
Caledon OPP reports officers were patrolling the area near Old School Road shortly after 11 p.m. when they noticed a black Hummer travelling at inconsistent speeds. They also noticed the vehicle swerved over the fog line.
The vehicle was stopped, and as the officers approached it, they noticed a strong smell of alcohol on the driver’s breath, as well as other indications that he was under the influence.
The man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
His licence was suspended on the spot and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
