Impaired driving charge laid

Caledon OPP are crediting a report from a concerned citizen for alerting them to a suspected impaired driver July 29 in the area of Highway 10 and King Street.
Police report they got the call about an erratic driver shortly before 1 p.m. Officers observed the suspect vehicle make an abrupt turn from Highway 10 onto Old School Road, cutting off northbound traffic in the process. Police activated their emergency equipment and intercepted the vehicle. Officers approaching the vehicle immediately detected a strong odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath.
A 47-year-old man from Etobicoke was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and refusal to supply a breath sample. His licence was suspended on the spot and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
