Caledon residents can get a free, safe ride home over the holidays.
HomeJames-Caledon is entering its 16th year and has chosen 15 dates on which it will be providing service.
HomeJames is a community program that provides a designated driver service for people in their own vehicles.
“HomeJames-Caledon aims to ensure the safety of our neighbors, friends, and family on the roads,” said the organization in a statement. “HomeJames-Caledon has been at the forefront of providing a responsible and essential service to the community and the 16th year promises to be another milestone in its mission to prevent accidents caused by impaired driving.”
HomeJames-Caledon will begin service on November 17 this year.
Other dates of service are as follows: November 18, 24 and 25; and December 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30 and 31.
Volunteers are always welcomed by HomeJames-Caledon to support its mission.
“By becoming a volunteer, you can contribute to the safety and well-being of your community,” reads the release. “Join us in our mission to save lives.”
HomeJames-Caledon volunteers now have access to a user-friendly volunteer registration and dispatching system.
Users of the HomeJames-Caledon service can benefit from more ways to request a ride this year. HomeJames-Caledon accepts ride requests through its website, smartphone app, and by phone.
“This expanded ‘request a ride’ method offers greater convenience for those needing a safe ride home,” reads the release.
