Fines Ford Lincoln put it into overdrive in the post-season and are the 2012-13 Caledon Senior Hockey League champions.
Fines Ford Lincoln took home the crown with a 5-1 win over Baffo’s Pizza last week. George’s Arena Sports, who won the regular-season title, also finished with a 4-1 playoff record but Fines won the tiebreaker because they defeated George’s earlier in the playoffs.
In the other games, Rutherford Global Logistics finished a strong post-season showing with a 6-4 win over Jiffy Lube Oilers and George’s edged Bolton Chiropractic Centre 5-4.
Rotundo rolls in final game
Nick Rotundo was the spark plug for Fines Ford with three goals and an assist. Jim Rogers was also firing, with a goal and three assists. Bernie Tisdale scored the winners’ other goal. Clark Judge had a big night with three assists, while Maurizio Giorgio had one.
Scott Sinclair scored the lone goal for Baffo’s on Fines goaltender Vanni DiMarco.
Fetterly shines
Sascha Fetterly scored twice for George’s against Bolton Chiropractic . Ralph Ricardi and Pat Heenan each had a goal and an assist with James Heenan adding a goal. Luch Pinarello contributed two assists while Paul Burrell, Joe Palumbo, Peter Coghill and Randy Freitag had one each.
Bruno Fracassi led BCC with two goals. Nick Taccogna notched a goal and assist with Ted Callighen getting a goal. Assists went to Mike Shore, Jim Schaefer and Rick Agar.
Speck on target
Paul Speck scored three goals for Rutherford while John Castellucci and Gary Faultless had a goal and two assists each. Bob Smith also scored for the winners. George Armstrong had two assists with singles by Bill Moyer and Jack Gibson.
Bill Doherty scored twice for Jiffy Lube, Vince Varvaro had a goal and assist and Gary Hoxey added a goal. Brian Fetterly, Ian Kerr and Dominic Spignasi all had one assist.
