As students prepare to get back to school, teachers and parents are a bit apprehensive about what to expect.

Ontario’s Education Minister Stephen Lecce said Ontario’s plan to reopen schools is the “strongest in Canada.” Ontario has the most comprehensive masking policy, and the government has provided more funding for cleaning, testing and staffing.

“We will continue to keep students safe,” he said.

Lecce said the Province will continue to step up in significant ways, to respond to the risk as it emerges, and to demonstrate to parents in “action, more than words, we will do whatever it takes.”

Lecce said everything they’ve done is “because we’ve listened to the science. We have to take a multitude of actions and layers of prevention. We will continue to do that.

“We will continue to be there for our parents and kids.”
