Editorial — Get out and run for Terry Sunday

September 15, 2014   ·   0 Comments

This coming Sunday (Sept. 14) will be the day of the year that people in Canada and beyond honour the heroism of Terry Fox.
He’s been gone more than 33 years now, having died of cancer a month before his 23rd birthday after running about half way across Canada to raise money for research top stop the disease that eventually killed him. It is nice to know his spirit lives on and will be celebrated by countless Terry Fox runs.
Locally, there will be two.
The Rotary Club of Palgrave will be hosting their annual run at Stationlands Park, just west of Regional Road 50.
The Bolton Kinsmen will be holding their event at their facility at 35 Chapel St.
Both runs start at 9 a.m. after brief ceremonies.
There are very few of us who have not been touched by cancer, so we all have an interest in this annual event.
