There are some surprising and fun ways to celebrate the holiday season, and they will be discussed at the next session of Lifetree Cafe this coming Wednesday (Nov. 27).
The program, entitled A Christmas Surprise: Rekindling the Joy of Christmas, will feature a filmed interview with a man who bakes, decorates and gives away more than 4,000 cookies each Christmas. Alan Kobs is in his home kitchen daily from October through Christmas, but he doesn’t consider it a burden.
“It’s in the giving,” he said. “I think about the people who are going to be the recipients of these cookies and the joy it might bring.”
Participants will also be offered the opportunity to provide a hands-on surprise for members of the local community who must work on Christmas Day.
The program wil run from 7 to 8 p.m. Admission will be free. Snacks and beverages will be available.
Lifetree Cafe is at St. James’ Anglican Church, 6025 Old Church Rd. in Caledon East.
Lifetree Cafe is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Mark Tiller at 905-584-8506 or mark.lifetree@gmail.com
